Kliklok Trolley Loaders for Dairy Crest
December 13, 2006
Kliklok Woodman has supplied two TL7 trolley loading machines to Dairy Crest for their new site in Foston, Derbyshire.
The TL series of machines is designed to collate polythene milk bottles or cartons and load them automatically into shelved trolleys (roll containers).
With particular emphasis towards the dairy industry, versions of the TL are available to accept trolleys fed manually into the machine, or delivered automatically from an overhead conveyor.
Dairy Crest chose the TL7 model, one with a single lane infeed, the other a higher speed twin lane infeed machine. Both machines can size change from one bottle size to another in less than 5 minutes.
The single lane machine is set up to run 4 bottle sizes from 1 to 4 pints, and incorporates a layer pad inserter which allows the 1 pints to be double tiered on each of the trolley shelves.
The twin lane model will run also runs multiple sizes, but at considerably higher speeds.
Both machines also have integrated turntable mechanisms that rotate a full collation of bottles so that the bottle handles are in the correct orientation once loaded in the trolley. Being integrated into the machine, this mechanism takes up a very small area - a valuable commodity in any dairy.
Dairy Crest was so pleased with the Kliklok equipment that they are about to take delivery of a new TL8 model at their Chadwell Heath plant.
